dreamy. my love for carnival rides.

happy monday.  my weekend was filled with plenty of rest and a little adventure park fun.  when i saw they had a county fair section my heart skipped a beat and my little penelope (my trusty camera) didn't catch a break. the site of a carnival ride instantly takes me to a place of magic, whimsy and dreams come true.  i wanted the end photo to embody all of these things...and a little something extra.

i was also inspired by this wonderful music video by dave matthews band - crash into me...it is pure beauty don't you think?



i hope i am able to capture the beauty in every photo i take just like this...i love the story.  i love the adventure.  i love the dream.

oh my.  i could look at this color palette all day long and never have a care or worry in the world again.  my closet has quickly been taken over by a wardrobe filled with varying shades of peaches and hints of mint (there would be much more of this pretty shade of green if i could find more of it to buy!).  

i was driving around in my vw beetle convertible just yesterday wishing i could have mine painted just like that beauty up top...i may just have to settle for a sea foam vespa, it's been on my wish list for years.  

what colors are you crushing on this spring?  i have a feeling this color combo will be a favorite through the summer if i do say so myself :)  XO, lindsay

hello beautiful friends!  i hope you had a fabulous weekend and wishing for you a wonderful monday morning as well :)  today i thought i would start off with some pretty finds...i think number 4, the paper art is my favorite!! then again the camera cookies are pretty adorable as well ;)

good morning lovelies!  i thought i would start the day by sharing with you a lovely blogger friend of mine bethani of when a girl met a boy.  she recently asked me to create a pretty little space for her and i finally got to finish it up last night.

our first gingerbread house - inspired by the magical movie UP!

so here it is...our first gingerbread house made together as husband and wife.  actually, this is my first gingerbread house ever!  i did not have a good camera on hand so for now i will share some instagram iphone photos :)  i plan on taking some better pictures outside (hopefully with some snow) this weekend!

since this was my first go at a gingerbread house and matthew hasn't done it since grade school, we decided to start with a kit and add a few extra details here and there.

we added a chimney

the roof shingles are made out of cinnamon toast crunch and that cluster of balloons up there is made out of jelly beans attached to a styrofoam ball :)  can  you see the little "strings" hanging into the chimney as well?  those are just white garden wires!  matthew made the chimney out of some extra graham crackers that we had.

all in all i think it turned out pretty well....but i must admit i had to resort to some hot glue instead of frosting...that stuff wouldn't of held anything together for me!!!

oh and how are the balloons floating you ask?  well it's magic you see...or maybe it's because we stuck a wooden dowel stick at the top and matthew is holding it while standing on a chair...yeah i think that's it :)

calling all pen pals

one of my favorite things about the holidays is receiving beautiful cards and letters in the mail.  i heart snail mail and i know so many others do as well :)  while email is so very convenient i think that it put a damper on the hand written words that used to be delivered via usps.

once the excitement from the holiday season dies down and our mail boxes are no longer receiving as much love what will we do?  well lovelies i have a suggestion...lets be pen pals :)  please pretty please!  i'll even send you the first letter...i would be happy to ♥

have any of you gotten a chance to really listen to the lyrics in this song firework by katy perry?  i was browsing youtube and stopped by one of my favorite artists kina grannis and instantly fell in love with her cover of this song.  she inspired me to pick up my beautiful guitar ivy (who has sadly been neglected these last few weeks) and learn it myself.

i obviously had heard this song on the radio, but learning it last night really made me focus on the message...and it is a really good one!  here is the kina grannis video.  if you have a heart for awesome covers, a beautiful voice and lovely acoustic guitars i highly reccomend you listen.  maybe one day soon i will have enough courage to post a cover or two of my own...please note i said maybe :)

we are all fireworks...lets find our spark and shine!
