buried deep.

i woke up this morning to the most beautiful snow...almost 7 inches overnight and still counting.  watching the little birds try and find a resting place on the branches has been quite comical...matthew was sweet and cleared off some of the snow for them so they can rest their tiny wings a bit.  i'm waiting for the cardinals to come out and play...that would make the prettiest picture don't you think?

also this day is extra special because 6 years ago was the beginning of our love story - here we are now married for nearly 2 years and helping make each others dreams come true...we're so lucky.

train tracks and shadow kisses

happy monday!  i hope you all had a beautiful weekend.  we spent some time relaxing at home, celebrated birthdays (happy late birthday kris!) and had a wonderful dinner last night with some great friends.  matthew and i made a quick stop by the train tracks to get in a few pictures while the sun was setting...it's my favorite spot, the backdrop of the colorful trains are my favorite :)

the weather has been beautiful (for winter) here in nebraska...i wish i could take pictures  **comfortably** outside all year long.  how's the weather in your corner?

love and popsicles

late last night matthew and i were sitting on the couch talking with the tv on in the background and then we decided to have a little snack.  we recently bought those popsicle sticks...the long ones in the plastic that come in a package of all sorts of flavors. 

matthew chose grape and i had the blue raspberry.  when we finished those we decided...what the heck lets have another one.  this time he came back with orange and i chose the pineapple.  sitting there eating our popsicles i said to matthew, "we are completely meant for each other...you love the flavors i hate and i love the flavors you hate...it doesn't get much better than that!"

we have had some killer storms come through lincoln and i am so happy that the sun is finaly shining and our plans to go to the local county fair this evening are going to happen.  going to the fair makes me a very happy girl...bright lights, fun rides, friendly company and anything on a stick is sure to put a smile on my face.

ice cream social

where in the world did this week go?  ever since i started working from home it seems as if the weeks just fly off the shelves.  do you have anything fun planned for this weekend?  i think matthew and i need to host an ice cream social at our house!  it has been SO hot and humid all week long and i think ice cream is just what we all need ;)

fireflies and mini golf adventures

summertime is my favorite season for so many reasons, but fireflies and mini golf adventures top my list for sure (okay maybe snow cones too!!) what are some of your favorites?

thank you so much for the sweet words and motivation regarding my dream job post from yesterday needless to say i have a lot of "dream jobs" all of which i am determined to make a reality.  matthew and i are creating a one year plan to make Scarlet & Cream an active business by spring/summer of next year.  i'm excited to share the journey with you all! an unexpected guest

my mister went on a five day bike ride and was not supposed to be home until later this evening.  i was surprised when he and his pops came home on friday!  due to flooding in iowa and nebraska they had to cut their trip short.

we celebrated matthew's 26th birthday yesterday and today we're going to go on a bike ride and grill out some food!  here's a few pictures from our weekend downtown...

a "wicked" one year anniversary

have any of you seen wicked?  my dear friend chandra over at the earthfood experiment highly recommended it, and i'm so glad that she did.  this musical was absolutely amazing and was the perfect one year anniversary date for us!

the theatre was stunning.  i wish i could have gotten more pictures, but they were pretty particular about where you could and couldn't snap some pictures.  so i'm leaving you with this photo of a chandelier...it is beautiful none the less :)

after the show we walked to roja, a mexican restaurant in the old market of omaha.  it was our first time ever eating there!  their margaritas were to die for...

and their fajitas....seriously the BEST i have EVER had :)

of course we had to share a dessert.  this baby was a chocolate chip cookie dough filled chimichanga.  that's just a fancy way of saying fried cookie dough...i die!

we did attempt the good old fashioned top tier wedding cake eating tradition...let's just say the freezer burn got the best of it...at least we tried :)

we've been illustrated!!

not too long ago i won an amazing illustration giveaway on chrissy's blog from the ever so talented victoria of batzy rockshop!  didn't it turn out amazing?  i knew that one of our engagement pictures would be absolutely perfect, but never did i imagine that it would turn out this fantastic.

i love a good margarita from chili's!

are you guys a fan of the margarita's over at chili's?  my hubs and i made a pit stop over there this evening...it was toasty outside today so a margarita sounded amazing!

chili's is hosting a promotion called margarita madness and has a fun sweepstakes going on.  you can upload a photo of you, friends, family here for a chance to win a few prizes!   i myself uploaded that ridiculous photo of me with the smiling orange slice!  hubs said i look pretty...i think he's lying ;)

looking back - old pictures of matthew and i

last night i was looking at a few old pictures of matthew and i.  i wish then i would have had my camera, i know i would have taken so many more pictures than what i did.  i suppose in a few years when i look back at old pictures i will have plenty to look through :)
