what am I most looking forward to in 2012? - Hopefully starting college, I'm going for cosmetology, getting a job and maybe being able to buy a car by 2013 :) My brother in law was accepted into Columbia university, So they (my oldest sister, brother in law and my two little nieces) Will be moving to New York around the new year! And then just life in general :) Can't wait to see what 2012 has in store for me :)

I work at Trader Joe’s with my husband by day and crochet whimsical things to wear whenever I’m not there. I got back into crocheting about a year and a half ago and before I knew it I had a shop and was shipping my little creations all over the place. Whenever I sell something I am both happy and sad... happy because it is exciting to know someone likes what you make and sad because I don’t get to keep the item (just kidding... mostly). Each sale gets me and my mister one step closer to a trip we’ve been talking about for many years.

what are you most looking forward to in 2012?
In 2012 I am very much looking forward to jumping into the craft fair scene! 2012 will also be the year that my husband graduates from college and we plan a great trip to New Zealand, Australia and as much of Europe as our bank account allows. I am hoping to create a couple new things for my shop and can’t wait to use the money I make on Etsy to buy our plane tickets in a couple months!

My husband Sean is a carpenter.  We have a romantic story? Want to read it? Click here! We had gotten pregnant with my second daughter, his first.  My first daughter Blue is 13 and Sheah is now 4.  I wanted to be home with her and left my job as an area manager for a retail store and  lost the bulk of our income to stay home with Sheah.  I asked Sean if he would make some woodcrafts  and I would sell them on the weekends to make ends meet.  He worked full time and came home and made wine bottle holders for me to sell at craft fairs...  which are also very cool by the way :)  While out in the wood shop he missed us and would make me a wood heart necklace or Celtic knot on a rope and they became my favorite pieces.  
I received enough compliments to realize maybe we should make jewelry too!!  I added silver and started to add a stone bracelets, leather cuffs etc..... and Payton Woodcraft Jewelry Design was born.... We are blessed that we have such a loyal following and have found something we love to do together!!  We are happy to say that all of our wood pieces are made from reclaimed pieces of wood.   We hope you love it as much as we do!!  xo

I always have so much fun in the process of planning and creating, and I feel like I can't wait another couple months to introduce this collection! The second thing I am looking forward to, which I'm even more ecstatic about, is the birth of our second little one. Pregnancy and motherhood is the most inspiring and thrilling thing I've ever experienced, and I can't wait to do it all over again!

I have been blogging for about a year now. I have to admit that I spend so much time creating my artwork and seeking inspiration, that sometimes it takes a backseat. I am still trying to figure out what my style is, so I see a revamp of my blog in the very near future.

What inspired you to create your blog?

After opening Farnum Ink Studio on Etsy, the next step was to create a blog where I could share my thoughts, ideas and inspiration. 

What things do you like sharing on your blog most?  Do you have a favorite post?

I like to share things that inspire me in the moment, whether it be a quote or a photograph. I want to share things that are a source of joy and happiness, life is too short to dwell or live in a state of unhappiness.

What do you like to do most when you’re not blogging?

I like to sew, although you can't see it on my online store, I create organic, stuffed toys. Sewing is a family endeavor, alongside with my mom, we create one of a kind kids t-shirts and are currently sorting through ideas for the next step. I love to travel and I move around a lot, my favorite city where I've lived is London.  I must confess, I am a bit of a shopaholic, I joke with my friends that shopping should be an olympic sport!  My interests are so varied, I love photography, cooking, yoga, there are too many things to mention.

If you could live in any other decade, which would it be and why?

Wow, do I really have to only choose one! I would love to live in the 1960s, it was a time of revolution and evolution.  The vibe of the era attracts me, the music and the fashion; I would give anything to time travel to the 60's and see The Beatles or The Doors in their heyday.

I'm Katy Hill. I have many loves including my faith in Christ, my husband, our golden retriever Nola, music, running, good food, and my rain boots because they give me full permission to splash in any and every rain puddle. Oh and I also love splashing in rain puddles. :)

How long have you been blogging?

I started as a food/healthy living blogger in October of 2009, but realized I couldn't be stuck in one certain niche. I love to eat food, but not so much writing about it all the time. I switched over to my blog in January of this year and I couldn't be happier!

 

What inspired you to create your blog?

I read other blogs all the time and knew I wanted to do the same thing. I figured we all have a story to share and maybe someone will want to read mine. I also thought it was a great way to keep my family and friends in the loop on what was going on in my life. I was newly married and it was fun to document that time in our lives. I've learned so much about myself through blogging and have met so many amazing people. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made!

What things do you like sharing on your blog most?  Do you have a favorite post?

I love sharing my personal stories because people respond to them the most. Sometimes it's hard to share the bad stuff along with the good. I often find myself chiseling away at the personal posts and having to rewrite them a hundred times, but once I hit "publish" I feel so much better! I also truly enjoy blogging about the littlest things, like trips to the farmer's market, a long walk in the park or an afternoon spent picking apples. I think documenting the little things makes them even more special and many times, when we look back, they turn out to be the big things. I've learned to truly enjoy each and every little adventure life brings! As for my favorite post so far? It would have to be this one, but this one is a close second. :)

 

What do you like to do most when you’re not blogging?

Most of all, I love spending time with my husband and our pup Nola. I love exploring our new state(we just moved to North Carolina), going to the mountains, working on creative projects, photography, and music.

 

If you could live in any other decade, which would it be and why?

This may seem a bit random, but I'm in love with the Biltmore estate and would love to have been there in it's prime, so the 1890's? We've done some of the behind-the-scenes tours where they've read from relative's journals and it just seemed like an amazing place to stay at that time. I'd love to see how it was back then.

I read quite a few, but some of my favorites at the moment are The Wiegands, Gussy Sews, Kyla Roma, and The Twenty-Fifth Year.

First, tell us a little about yourself. 

My name is Valerie.  I live in New York City with my husband, Scott, who is in dental school, while I work a regular ol' 9 to 5 job and also own an Etsy shop called DottieAdele.  We're both transplants from Oklahoma, so we're trying to make the best of our time in this big, amazing city while we can!

How long have you been blogging?

I just passed my one-year mark in September!

 

What inspired you to create your blog?

I have been sewing my own clothing for the past couple of years, and I originally started blogging to participate in a blog challenge amongst other seamstresses to wear self-made garments everyday for a month.  I didn't know if I would keep blogging after that first month, but I enjoyed it so much, I did!

What things do you like sharing on your blog most?  Do you have a favorite post?

Although I started out talking mostly about sewing (and I still talk about it a lot), now my blog is also a record of our every day lives.  With both of our families and the majority of our friends hundreds of miles away, it's a great way to keep up.  On top of that, it's just fun to be able to look back and see what you were doing a year ago on the same date!

My favorite sewing post was 18 Yards of Great Silk Taffeta - I made all six bridesmaid dresses for one of my best friends' weddings, something I was so honored to do for her, and so proud of the end result!

Another favorite about our every day life was New England, Again - a little video I made about a trip Scott and I took with my parents to New England.

What do you like to do most when you’re not blogging?

Well, in case you couldn't tell by now...sewing!  I sew at least a little bit everyday, whether it's something for myself or for an order on my Etsy shop, DottieAdele.  I also like to cook and bake, and I have a serious love for television - the DVR is always full!

If you could live in any other decade, which would it be and why?

I might be cheating, but I want to live in the 2080's!  I was born in the 1980's, and I would love to fast forward and see what our world is like 100 years later.  The fashion, the technology, transportation, the state of the world - what will it all be like 70 years from now?  The world changes so much every day, I can't even imagine!

Current favorite blog reads?

I love Letters of Note - they post fascinating real-life correspondence every day.  Sometimes they are letters to or from famous people, humorous complaints, touching notes to children or parents.  It's always a poignant and inspiring addition to my day.

My name is Tori. I'm a full time college student that loves crafting, blogging, and anything southern. 

How long have you been blogging?

I've been blogging since June 2011. I'm rather new to the blogging world, but I've found I'm smitten with it. 

What inspired you to create your blog?

I started my blog as a online memory book. At first, I wasn't going to share it with anyone, but after I found Casey Weigand's blog... I decided I wanted to try to get the word out. What could it hurt, right?

What things do you like sharing on your blog most?  Do you have a favorite post?

I think I like sharing just single pictures on my blog. I don't ever want to seem fake or unreal to my readers. I'm just a regular girl that writes. My blog is not that popular, not famous, and I will be happy if it stays at this level forever. I'm writing solely to encourage others. Everyone has up's and down's, tough times, and fun times-- I just happen to share mine.

I spend most of my time doing homework, shopping online, and drooling over things in Elle magazines.

1. First, tell us a little about yourself.
Hi! I'm Che'Lyssa and I am a twenty-something just finding my way through life. I was born and raised in Hawai'i and am still enjoying the sun and palm trees here on Kaua'i.

2. How long have you been blogging?
I have been blogging since December of '09 and I haven't looked back. It's amazing how many sweet people you can find in blog land. I have made a lot of friends through Lily Love and am so happy I created this little space.

3. What inspired you to create your blog?
I remember donating blood on a whim and just had the urge to document it. Then I had the urge to keep documenting even my smallest of thoughts. A few months later a really good friend said to me "If you want to be inspired and get your creative juices flowing...blog. Blog like a maniac" and so I did and then I stumbled upon blogs that I never knew existed. It was like a Narnia experience. I stepped into the wardrobe and never wanted to look back!

4. What things do you like sharing on your blog most? Do you have a favorite post?
This was always a question I asked myself for the better half of my blogging experience and I came to the conclusion that I'm an impulsive blogger. I blog about anything. Sure, I have my usual postings: weekend recaps, life-crisis posts and weekly inspiration posts, but a lot of times I can be a pretty random blogger. One thing that I enjoy writing about is my faith in God and how He has changed my life. As for a favorite, I'd have to say my post about letting go. That one took a lot for me to write, but I'm sure glad I did!

5. What do you like to do most when you're not blogging?
I am a sucker for catching a movie on Sundays. Either that or the beach. I am also a Children's ministry leader at my local church and am always planning something fun for the kids.

6. If you could live in any other decade, which would it be and why?
1940's. Hands down. I love everything from the fashion and music to the way they lived out their romance and wrote their love stories. Serious swoon.

7. Current favorite blog reads?
I stumbled upon Seedling. It's such a down-to-earth blog. Also, Hue and Hum is another relaxing read.

My name is Ashley Marie Wilson. I am a lover of Jesus, a wife, and an artist. My spirit dances around when I’m able to create, capture an image, or encourage.  

 

How long have you been blogging?

Honestly…I started writing posts in April 2011 but didn’t tell anyone but my closest friends until the end of July. 4 months later…so officially about 2 or 3 months.

 

What inspired you to create your blog? I’ve always kept a journal and I always like to save articles, notes, teachings, or pictures I found inspiring. For years I wanted to have a place to not only save it but share it. Back in April God placed the idea of starting a blog in my heart. I was hesitant but realized it would be an amazing outlet creatively and spiritually, so La Luce the blog began.  

 

What things do you like sharing on your blog most?  Do you have a favorite post? I really love to share things that expanded my thoughts or perspective on something. You know how you can hear something over and over but there is that one time that you hear it and get a different understanding of the concept? I usually share those through the eye candy: soul candy posts. Something beautiful for our eyes, and something beautiful for our souls. I also love to share the GiveLove Spark challenges. Those might be my favorite posts because I pray they really spark a movement. If you haven’t head about GiveLove yet, you can read about that here. 

 

What do you like to do most when you’re not blogging? Spend time with my husband, go on random adventures in the city, find a new cool place. I really love doing anything creative. Painting, photography, image editing, and writing are my favorite ways to chill and get what swirls around inside of me out.

 

If you could live in any other decade, which would it be and why? I’m totally torn. I love the 40’s because of the style. The style lines were all so unique, but still so feminine. You could tell style was on the verge of being bolder for women and women started taking more risks when it came to fashion. But I love the free spirit aura that the 60’s had. How ‘go with the flow” and “airy” that time was. The art from the 60’s always intrigues me a lot too.

 

Current favorite blog reads? Oh wow. That’s super hard. I’ll do a top 3 (in addition to yours, because that’s an obvious) I have been most personally impacted by or creatively inspired by are: The Wiegands, Splendor, & A Beautiful Mess. There are so many other amazing blogs and women pouring themselves into those blogs that have truly blessed me and I have such a love for them too. Love you ladies!

My name is Krista.  I'm a mama, artist, and blogger. 

I've had my current blog since this past February.

I started blogging because I was designing stamps for a company in Scotland, and the two seemed to go hand in hand-- being creative and writing creatively:).  Blogging about my artwork, outfits, family life, and dreams is something I look forward to each day.  The blog has grown to be a huge creative outlet for me, giving me a chance to "taste life twice."

I especially love to write about my family.  I have been married for almost ten (10!) years to my blind date.  We have two beautiful children, Niamh and Philly.  Life has been good to us, and I enjoy sharing the most precious parts of it!

my beautiful disaster

What inspires me the most is meeting other creative people.  I almost feed off that positive energy, if that makes sense.  It's always so inspirational to see what ideas people come up with and encourages me to become more creative and try out new things.

Don't fall for the same boy twice, it'll hurt more the second time.
Find happiness within yourself, don't expect others to make it for you. 
Don't worry about your looks, it's a waste of time.  You're perfect the way you are. 
Be happy with who you are, you're unique and have a lot of amazing friends who love you.
Oh...take up photography, will ya?  Don't wait until you're older, experiment now!

The theme song to my life would have to be "Intro" by the XX.  It's such a beautiful song, I can either get pumped up by it or feel completely mellow and at ease.  Take a listen and you'll understand.

If I could have a picnic with anyone dead or alive, it'd have to be my great-grandpa. He died on the operating table when I was around 3. It was very unexpected, and of course at the time I didn't understand what had happened to him and where he went. My family tells me that whenever I'd go outside, I'd run next door to see him. (We lived beside each other). He'd always be waiting outside for me and perch me up on his knee. I wish more than anything I could remember that.

Within the next 5 years, I'd love to own a home, have traveled to a few destinations, and be more established in my career.  I'm slowly getting there, but I'm hoping by the time I'm in my early 30s I'll have done at least that!

I recently moved to Montreal, Quebec, Canada with my amazing boyfriend and 2 crazy kitties named Kitty Kitterson and Little! I am the creator behind "Heart & Soul Pieces" by little handmade jewelry and accessory business. Just loving life in general right now :)

I am fairly new to the blogging world starting only 5 months ago! It's definitely a learn as you go process :)

I wanted a creative outlet to share my experiences. I had been reading a lot of blogs and was really inspired by the women  who wrote them. I also live away from my family so it was a way for them to keep up with my shenanigans as my life is CONSTANTLY changing :)

 I love doing quick and easy tutorials as well as just showing readers my day to day life through photos :) I am really inspired by things I see around me or things I find online and love sharing them with my readers.

Performing. It's my first and true love. I have been performing since I was 12 and I am pretty sure it is something I will do till I die. I like to say that I am like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman when I see a big musical. I cry (happy tears), I am inspired and I am TOTALLY jealous of those up on stage :)

I would love to live in the 40's - the clothing, the physicality of the women, the lifestyle it's all so beautiful and exciting.

my name is kaitlyn and i have been blogging for two point five years! (im pretty sure blog years are like dog years so i'm feeling ancient already, lol). 

i was inspired to create my blog when i met an inspirational group of woman at graduate school. they were using their blogs to share art, photographs and fashion inspiration. i felt so enlightened each time i read them so i started one of my own! i consider my blog an "art blog" and i share a lot of contemporary art, mail art and images of the stationery i create 

my favourite post is "ten questions to ask yourself when looking at art"

when i'm not blogging i'm crafting and when i'm not crafting i'm working in the real world, at an art gallery.

there's no doubt about it, if i could live in any other decade it would be the fifties - for fashion reasons mostly


i spend a lot of time reading blogs but i think my favourites are "the jealous curator" and "oh so beautiful paper"
