pretty little things come in small packages

 i did a post not too long ago on my packaging for the scenic glory shop and thought i would share a few more.  the packaging is my favorite part of the whole process.  i think the feather printed muslin bag is my favorite with the pattern tissue paper wrapped in sari coming in second (the scenic glory jewelry is inside!)

i also took a few photos of the recent prints that were ordered...the dream catchers are my favorite...i really need to print one for myself!!

 have a beautiful holiday weekend.  matthew and i are going to a wedding tomorrow and plan to sit on a blanket with a picnic basket under the fireworks on the 4th with friends...i can't wait. XO, lindsay

a "wicked" one year anniversary

have any of you seen wicked?  my dear friend chandra over at the earthfood experiment highly recommended it, and i'm so glad that she did.  this musical was absolutely amazing and was the perfect one year anniversary date for us!

the theatre was stunning.  i wish i could have gotten more pictures, but they were pretty particular about where you could and couldn't snap some pictures.  so i'm leaving you with this photo of a chandelier...it is beautiful none the less :)

after the show we walked to roja, a mexican restaurant in the old market of omaha.  it was our first time ever eating there!  their margaritas were to die for...

and their fajitas....seriously the BEST i have EVER had :)

of course we had to share a dessert.  this baby was a chocolate chip cookie dough filled chimichanga.  that's just a fancy way of saying fried cookie dough...i die!

we did attempt the good old fashioned top tier wedding cake eating tradition...let's just say the freezer burn got the best of it...at least we tried :)

scenic glory photoshoot sneak peak

i am super excited to be able to share a few of the photos taken today for the scenic glory shop.  corey did an amazing job of capturing exactly the look i was hoping for.

there are a few accessories in these photos that i have not shared yet and i am so happy to be able to offer them in my shop.  one being the purple and green scarves in the first and second picture.  these  large scarves are made from fabrics from india that have been hand died and stamped.  these particular items are one of a kind and very limited with only 4 being available for each color!

the second item i am particularly excited about is the bohemian halo made with a delicate piece of stretch ribbon, chain, and vintage sari thread with wedding bells and charms from india.

i can't believe everything will be ready and open in less than a week.  thank you all for your sweet words and encouragement along the way...it has helped me to stay motivated and keep going :) XO, lindsay

are you guys sick of the scenic glory shop sneak peaks yet?  i hope not...tomorrow is photo shoot day and i can not wait (i'm pretty sure there will be a few more sneak peaks before the 14th!).

hello lovelies.  i thought i would share a few images today of my recent inspiration...henna!  i think the detail and time that goes into these amazing designs is absolutely incredible.  i am so inspired by the creativity and ethnic look of henna that i am incorporating it into the packaging of items for the scenic glory shop!  eek can't wait to share!

scenic glory accessory line - sneak preview

hello lovelies!  i have been super busy these last few days getting ready before matthew and i leave for our road trip on saturday!  we're taking my bug convertible through the tennessee mountains, visiting family and attending my step brother's wedding!  i have some great features coming up as well while i'm away.  i will still be posting on a regular basis...many pictures i am expecting! 

today i thought i would show you a little of what i have been working on these last few days.  i mentioned earlier this week that over the weekend i finally received the items i have been waiting for from india...fabrics, yarn and charms!!  this is some of what i have created to be sold in the scenic glory shop...

this is only a small sampling of the things i have made...i have to keep some of it a surprise for opening day :)  the feather hair clips are going to be a new staple in my everyday look.  the thing that's great is they are attached to a extension hair clip so you can put them in and take them out like a barrett and never have to worry about them falling out!

what are your favorite accessories?  i think i will start working on some earrings next!!  XO, lindsay

colors of india - scenic glory shop sneak peak

hello lovelies!  i hope you all had a beautiful weekend.  to all you mothers out there, i hope you had a wonderful mother's day as well!

this weekend i finally got my shipment from india that i have been patiently waiting for!!  i was so excited that i had to show you some sneak peak pictures of all the prettiness!

the silk yarn is my absolute favorite.  to make this, the remaining parts of the silk sari's (this is the term used for the cloth that the woman use to wrap their bodies with) are kept and woven into this beautiful creation.  it incorporates all of the vibrant colors that i was hoping for into one.  i plan to use this in all parts of the accessories line...i can't wait :) XO, lindsay

happy friday lovelies!  i hope your day is off to an amazing start and i'm wishing for you a fantastic weekend.  later today i am taking a short one day vacation with one of my good friends and staying at a lodge by a lake close to town.  i'm excited and looking forward to taking some beautiful pictures :)

only a few more weeks and the scenic glory shop will be open...my thoughts are that i will open with the prints first and then follow closely with the accessories line!  i am still waiting on the fabrics from india and it could still be another few weeks before i receive them :)  i'm sure they'll be worth the wait!!

until then i will keep up with the sneak peaks...i hope you guys like seeing these along the way!

more shop inspiration and ideas!

hello!  i hope you all had a beautiful weekend.  i spent some time relaxing, designing and looking up some inspiration ideas for the scenic glory shop!  all of the images above were found on we heart it...aren't they beautiful?  i am especially in love with feathers and fringe and plan to incorporate these two elements into the accessories side of the shop!

i am a big fan of color palettes as well...

i want my shop to be filled with bold, bright beautiful colors just like these!  i can't wait to get my first shipment of indian fabric...i imagine they will resemble these colors and it makes me so happy!

i have also been thinking about packaging...it's one of my favorite things :)  nothing is better than getting a package in the mail, but when the package is wrapped so beautifully it makes it even better.  i think this idea is cute...

i've also thought about how i want to display my accessories and design prints for pictures.  free people always has the most brilliant ideas...

although i will not have clothing in my shop (not yet at least!) i still love the idea of hanging items on decorative hangers...the brick wall is especially fabulous!  i think i will follow this type of style when creating a display.  i have an idea that incorporates paper parasols, yarn, brass charms etc.  i can't wait!  

when you look at shops, do you prefer to see the product on a model?  or does that not matter to you?  i'd love to know your thoughts!

scenic glory shop inspiration

i had mentioned that to start, the scenic glory shop will include prints as well as accessories (hair accessories specifically).  i've been working on an inspiration profile for the accessories side and wanted to share that with you.  i am completely in love with the bohemian style and plan to represent that in my line.  from the coin charms to the feathers to the textiles.

right now i am working with a few contacts, one in india and another in indonesia with the hope that i will be able to incorporate authentic pieces from each of these places into my creations.  keep your fingers crossed...i know i am!

scenic glory shop - a sneak peak

hey lovelies!  hope you all have had a beautiful weekend.  i thought i would share with you a few print designs i have created for the scenic glory shop (opening on june 14th).  i don't want to share them all before opening day, but just a few doesn't hurt right?!?

i have enjoyed incorporating my own handwriting and other graphics/textures that i have never used before into all of these print designs.  these are 2 of the 7 final designs i have created...i expect in the next two months there will be several more added!  XO, lindsay
