create something project - week 7 - up up and away (doll house)

hello lovelies!  it's week 7 of the create something project.  be sure to stop by the garden of eden designs and my best friend jules to see what they created!

sadly i was not able to create anything special for this week aside from blog designs and wedding albums, but i'm not quite ready to show these things just yet :) but i do have an exciting project that i plan to work on any chance i get.

these last few days i have helped my parents get together some of their things for their move to tennessee.  we came across this beautiful doll house that my grandpa made for me when i was just a little girl...

i plan to repaint it and add some cute furniture, maybe even wallpaper.  AND there is a cute chimney on top so possibly i will add some "balloons" and make my own little UP house!  kind of like the gingerbread house we made over the holidays.  i will keep you posted on progress!

so what did you create this week?  link up below and share your creations...we can't wait to see!

XO, lindsay

hello lovelies!  it's week 5 of the create something project.  be sure to stop by the garden of eden designs and my best friend jules to see what they created!

today i am sharing some pictures of some pretty flower clips that i made.  once i cut my hair short all i wanted to do was put fun flowers in my hair.  these are just a few that i made.  i love the bright colors of felt, thread and fabric so i combined all three together :)

okay lovelies it's your turn to share.  link up and share your creations!  can't wait to see!!

create something project - week 4 - infinity scarf

hello lovelies!  it's week 4 of the create something project.  be sure to stop by the garden of eden designs and my best friend jules to see what they created!

okay i have a bit of a confession...i didn't actually create this infinity type scarf this week, but it wasn't too long ago and i thought i would share it with you all today.  i took two pieces of cotton fabric and stitched the two pieces wrong sides together (i also added some stitching detail in a matching color of thread...you can see this in the pictures below)!  before stitching shut the two ends of the scarf i inserted a pretty piece of thick lace ribbon on both sides and then sewed the ends together.  i use this ribbon to tie the scarf around my neck...kind of like a necklace!

i have never seen a scarf like this before, but i thought the idea was unique and you can style it like you would with a regular infinity scarf.

what pretty little things have you created? link up and share your creativity! we'd love to see ♥ XO, lindsay

create something project - week 3 - vintage suitcase turned keepsake box

hello lovelies!  it's week 3 of the create something project.  be sure to stop by the garden of eden designs and my best friend jules to see what they created and be sure to link up your creations as well :)

this week i was i wanted to take some time to create a pretty space to display some vintage postcards that matthew and i have been storing the last 6 months.  at our wedding we had a guest table filled with blank vintage postcards.  we asked each of our guests to write us a message that we could look back on throughout our marriage.

this is what i created...

it was nothing too difficult.  i just used a vintage suitcase that i found at an antique shop and dressed it up with some paper that i stitched together, doilies and clothespins.  it fit perfectly on top of our antique china hutch.  now we can read the wonderful words of friends and family that were written on our wedding day.

okay friends, it's your turn to share your recent creations.  link up and share :) xo, lindsay

create something project - week 1 - pretty window displays

hello lovelies!  my goodness it has been quite a long day...i have been busy creating pretty things today, which is perfect....because it is sunday and it is the official start to the create something project.

as mentioned before the beautiful victoria of garden of eden designs is the mastermind behind this idea and she so generously asked that myself and the ladies of my best friend jules be hosts of this project along with her.

there are no rules...you simply create something...anything that you wish!  whether it be a dinner, a poem, a handmade card...anything :) then link up to our blogs so we can all see what you have created.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

i am excited to share a few images (keep in mind they are iphone pictures!) of what i spent creating today.  here are a few snapshots of the window display i have been working on...

oh yes...those are the old school paper chain links you used to make in kindergarten :) only this time i used pretty vintage inspired paper instead of the construction paper they used to provide us.

and do you see those random white spots dangling?  well those are jumbo puffed marshmallows that i suspended with fishing line...kinda looks like snow falling doesn't it?

here is a full window pic...so sorry for the bad sun glare.

in the middle where you see that table....we are going to be bringing in a maroon velvet mid century antique sofa...it will fit so perfectly between the dress forms!  i have a few more details that i need to add to this display as well as within the store tomorrow so there are more pictures (and better ones i might add) to come!

so what did you create?  remember to link up here and at the garden of eden designs and my best friend jules...we all want to see!
