snapshots - i need your advice!!

hello lovelies!  i hope you all are having a fab day :)  i am extra happy because i am excited to report that a canon slr camera will soon be in my hands....yes it's true, and i can not wait!!!  i have tossed the idea of purchasing a nikon or a canon (thank you again amy of a daring little life for all of your amazing feedback!) and after playing around with both i decided on a canon.

so to all of my canon slr users out there....what do you recommend and what lenses do you use?  i'd love your input!!  i just can't wait to finally take everyday snapshots with something other than a borrowed camera and my iphone :) xo-lindsay ♥
