inside the picnic basket - prep work

it is another beautiful saturday here in lincoln...which means an absolute perfect day for a morning stroll through the farmers market.  i visited with my friend chandra at the mill (a local coffee shop) and then we stopped by some stands at the market and picked up some fresh spices and vegetables.

i mentioned yesterday that there will be a new feature appearing here on scenic glory this next week i call inside the picnic basket.  i have never been one to cook, actually my husband is the one that enjoys it, but i thought it would be fun to give it a shot and document my progress (or lack there of..haha).

ever since purchasing penelope (my beloved camera) i have found that taking photographs of food is one of my favorite subjects.  the close up detail, all the colors and depth...to me it is beautiful and i hope to embody that in my new feature.

i look forward to sharing new recipes with you too!  for those of you that don't know, the hubs and i share what we call a "split kitchen."  I am a vegetarian (who occasionally eats seafood), and matthew is a born and raised nebraska boy who loves a good burger.  needless to say there will be a lot of variety in this new feature and i hope you will enjoy it!

happy weekend to you all...i'm off to do some prep work for this next weeks meals ;) XO lindsay

  1. Hello lovely,
I haven't been one to cook, neither. But I'll definitely stay tuned and maybe I'm gonna join on in. :) Sounds absolutely great... Also, I'm really trying to figure out lately, if I'm gonna become a vegetarian as well. So really I can't wait to get to know your favorite vegetarian recipes. :)

Lots of love. Happy Weekend. XOXO.
