in her shoes - a feature with hudson's happenings

hello lovelies!  i hope your wednesday is off to a beautiful start ♥  today is in her shoes feature day and i have two very lovely ladies to share with you today!  first up is ashley of hudson's happenings oh my goodness...if you haven't seen her and her family...they are absolutely stunning!  you must stop by and visit her happy place.  it is filled with beautiful everyday photos that you won't want to miss.  first take a peak into a day in her shoes!

what motivates you to get your day started?

Every morning I wake up to the sweetest sounds...those of my precious baby boy, waking happily in his crib. I always love to hear his tiny voice, carried through the invisible wavelengths from his nursery into my sunlit speckled bedroom, via the video monitor that sits on my bedside table. There's no better motivation than knowing that I get to spend my day with my favorite little person in the world.

what part of your day do you most look forward to and why?

Probably the best part of my day is when my husband comes home from work, hungry and happy. He and Hudson play in the kitchen while I prepare dinner. I love these little moments that we spend as a family...just us, sharing thoughts about our day, and laughing with each other. As the smell of yummy food wafts through the air, the three of us are perfectly relaxed, ecstatic to simply enjoy each others company.

what do you like most about where you live?

Oh, how I love my sweet home Alabama. First of all, the weather here is perfect most of the time. Second, there is so much to do here in our North Alabama home, from fun times on the river, to hikes through the mountains. In the summer, it's just a few hours drive to the beautiful beaches of South Alabama. I wouldn't change the state I live in for anything....ummmm, unless someone offered me a free place to stay in Manhattan. I mean, who could turn that down? TeeHee. But for the record, I'm sure after a while in the big city, I'd be yearning to return to my beautiful Alabama home.

what part of your day is the most difficult and what do you do to overcome that?

Well, I won't lie. Being a stay-at-home Mom is a hard job....and it's far from what they show you on TV. I don't vacuum my house in high heels and curled hair, nor do I sit around all day eating bon bons and watching soap operas.  I usually start my day by feeding Hudson breakfast, then cleaning up the living room from all the toys he pulled out the night before. I change diapers about 10 times a day, bathe the baby, clean up spilled milk, wash dishes, do laundry, make beds, check emails, make lunch, write a blog, teach letters, numbers and songs, prepare dinner, pick up the clutter that has accumulated throughout the day, and then put the baby to sleep. Whew. Yep, being a mom is definitely tough, but you know how I  overcome it? I love every single second of my day. I am so thankful that I am able to be home with my baby, watching him grow and learn and love. To be honest, I wouldn't trade the worst day I've had as a Mom for many of the best days I had before Hudson was born.

what do you love most about yourself today?

Sometimes even the most confident of people can grapple with the question: what do you love most about yourself? It's a hard one to answer, but as I sit here typing, I'll be happy to share the things that pop into my head that I love about me....I love that I have a undeniable drive to continue learning. I love that my eyes are green. I love that I am a mother and a wife. I love that I am nice. I love my sense of humor. I love that I am willing to go out on a limb to make people happy. I love that I am not afraid to express myself, whether it be through fashion, art, or blogging. Oh, and I love that I was able to be a part of this fabulous blog series....Thanks Lindsay! You are such an inspiration to so many bloggers out there! :)
