What motivates you to get your day started?
The first thing I do almost every day is write, whether it is a new post for my blog, a journal entry, or adding on to one of the novels I am working on. Writing has always been a part of my life, but I never really realized it until I was in college. With my first creative writing class well underway, I began to comprehend how much I actually wrote and that any form of writing could be creative.
Writing has become the ultimate creative outlet, providing me with a fresh slate for the day and a tablet to release my mind chatter.
What part of your day do you most look forward to and why?
The part of the day that I most look forward to is the time between 10 at night and 2 in the morning. This is the time that I have all to myself and the time that I work best and can be the most creative. I write, read, make jewelry, text friends, draw, organize things, do homework, et cetera. I love it. Of course, when I start school or am working almost every day, this time become a little problematic. :)
What do you like most about where you live?
This picture of the Lake Michigan coastline almost explains it all! I love the beach and can never imagine living anywhere without water. This part of paradise is less than five minutes away from my house and is the setting for my summer. These pictures were taken just as a storm was rolling in. The sand was whipping me in the face, but the waves were very active and the sky was turning this beautiful purple color.
What part of your day is the most difficult and what do you do to overcome that?
Currently, the most difficult part of the day is the COLD WEATHER! So much snow, so much ice, so much freezing wind! Yet, I have to go out to shovel the walk in front of the porch and the garage, and my baby bunny, Orin, needs fresh water, more hay in his box and a good scratching behind the ears. Lucky for me, he loves the snow! I have to run inside and wrap myself in a blanket, put on wool socks and a comfy sweatshirt with a hood!
However, on days that the weather is warm and I can dress in a tank top and flip flops, the most difficult part of the day is finding a parking spot at the beach when silly tourists find it necessary to bring their thirty foot RV to the beach. How many parking spots do they need to monopolize?!
What do you love most about yourself today?
Today, I love the fact that I have allowed myself a day off to do nothing but be creative! I haven’t left my bed. I’ve been replying to every single comment on my blog, writing my post for today and my post for tomorrow, been making earrings and barrettes, and have been singing along with the first season of Glee. (Have I ever mentioned how much I enjoy having marathons?)
Well, that’s about it. Thank you for taking a few steps in my shoes!

Hi AubrieAnne,
ReplyDeleteAn entire creative day sounds spectacular - I wouldn't mind having one myself. I have always wanted to see some snow! Why don't you come on over to spend Summer in Australia.

What a great "IN her Shoes" post! So nice meeting her! I will hop on right over! xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone for your very kind words and for sharing your experiences with me as well. Lindsay, I've said it before, but I will say it again. This really is a wonderful feature. Like Becca said, I love to talk about writing, but it was very nice to talk about my normal day as well. Although, writing is very much a part of that, I was able to share other things that are very dear to me as well. Such as, getting my parking spot at the beach! Mira, we need to protest. lol.
ReplyDeleteAubrieAnne was one of my first friends when I began blogging. She's so wonderful and real. You couldn't have picked a better person to spotlight!! :)
