in her shoes - a feature with the forever endeavor

hello again ♥ i am so happy to bring you the next in her shoes feature of the day.  meet amanda of the forever endeavor she is so lovely and just a breath of fresh air.  plus if you are looking for a place for wonderful food inspiration you need to check her out....like now, go!  well wait wait read about a day in her shoes first :)

I wanted to say a quick hello and thank you SO much to Lindsay for offering this fun opportunity to guest blog. She is SUCH an inspiring blogger with her words and photos! Ok, here I go :)

what motivates you to get your day started?

I once heard someone say, “I want to walk in the room the right way”. I had to think what the “right way” was to me. I decided it’s with my head up, smiling face on, and a can do attitude ready to help out in any way I can. You never know what other people you encounter are going through, give the benefit of the doubt and a smile, and I guarantee it will get you far :)

what part of your day do you most look forward to and why?

Well, there are a couple of times of day I look forward to. Believe it or not, driving to work – I get a couple of quiet minutes to myself before my crazy day starts. It’s lunch time with my co-workers, and last but not least, walking in our front door at the end of the day. It’s a good feeling to know I given my very best during the day and now I can relax, have a good meal, and spend time with my husband :)

what do you like most about where you live?

The Pacific Northwest is an absolutely GORGEOUS place to grow up and live. The trees are green and fragrant, the air is crisp and clean, and even though the myth is that it rains 360 days of the year, don’t believe it. I feel so fortunate my parents decided to move here when I was younger, and I can’t wait to raise my kids here as well. It is culturally diverse, full of fun things to do around the city, and you are just a hop, skip and jump from the ocean AND the mountains :)

what part of your day is the most difficult and what do you do to overcome that?

The most difficult part of my day is definitely the evening. It’s something I used to be embarrassed about, and hid it for quite a while. I struggle with anxiety, I first tried medication and found that I was just numbing the problem as opposed to facing it and wound up feeling very groggy the morning after. I decided to take matters into my own hands; I try to relax my mind, take bubble baths, and drink decaffeinated tea before I go to bed. This doesn’t always work, but it’s better for me in the long run than the latter.

what do you love most about yourself today?

What do I love most about myself today? I love my attitude! Today is the first day of the new work year for me and I’ve already seen so many negative Facebook status updates and even emails stating, “Ugh…Monday…” Please don’t get me wrong, I’m not a bucket of sunshine every morning by any means. However, I think it’s important to again, walk in the room the right way, and start the day off with the right attitude

♥♥♥♥♥

  1. Aw! I love her answers! And I can totally relate to anxiety issues when the evening comes. Its definitely my least favorite. Especially when I am home alone (thankfully that's not often.)

P.s. I've always wanted to visit the Pacific Northwest. I've just never had the chance yet, but hopefully soon!

  4. I love these features. And, Amanda, I love your attitude as well. That is a great way to think of the beginning of every day. I will consider how I walk into a room as well. It's a good thing to think about! I know that anxious feeling as well. My stomach will physically hurt sometimes and I too have chosen to deal with it on my own and breath it out, focus on the wonderfulr things in my life and not let the little stuff take over.
