in her shoes - a feature with love never fails

hello lovelies!  well it is wednesday and you know what that means...2 fresh new in her shoes feature.  the first lovely lady i am bringing to you today is the amazingly wonderful sam of love never fails  i have been lucky enough to get to know sam very well and i am so excited to have the opportunity to meet her in person this summer ♥ okay so lets get to it...

Hey everyone! I'm Sam from the blog Love Never Fails and let me just say what an honor it is to be featured on Scenic Glory. Lindsay is truly amazing {which you guys already know!} and I feel so fortunate to call her friend! Her blog has blossomed into this corner of inspiration, passion, and motivation. I cannot wait to see the amazing places she takes Scenic Glory! Thanks Linds :)

A few little tid bits about me:

what motivates you to get your day started?

Hmm, this is tough, which it shouldn't be haha.. I think it's safe to say that many things get me started. My puppy, waking me up by licking my face, my roommates hilarious jokes, sweet emails/text messages from friends, my wonderful comments from my readers, my own yerning to do something successful that day.. The list is endless. But, regardless of what the motivation of the day is, I DO KNOW all too well that each day is a blessing and we should treat it as such.

what part of your day do you most look forward to and why?

I love my free read time and my blog time, both of which have been few and far between lately. Working on changing that :)

what do you like most about where you live?

Well, where I live is sorta of ever-changing right now. I typically am in Fayetteville, AR where I attend college. Fayetteville is amazing! The town is absolutely everything you could want in a college town and the wide/unique variety of people is refreshing as ever. Right now however, I am in Tulsa, OK living with my family before I travel abroad next semester. Tulsa is probably one of the greatest family towns you could imagine. It's very safe (for the most part) and the people are just as nice as can be. Come mid-February, I will be moving to Australia to study abroad for 5 months!!!! I absolutely cannot wait :)

what part of your day is the most difficult and what do you do to overcome that?

It's not really a time but an emotion that is the most difficult for me. Negativity. Negativity is the most difficult part of my day. I know I am a happy person and I take pride in that. So when negative thoughts or emotions come to mind, it takes a big toll and I have to be very conscious to not let it over rule me. Whether it be negative thoughts about my body, my appearance, my grades, my friends, my family, certain people, situations, etc. It cannot rule how my day goes and to prevent that from happening, I have to really focus on all the blessings I DO HAVE. Because I know I am so beyond blessed... No negative thoughts can ever take that away from me. And on those days where I just don't have the energy to overcome the "down mood" I turn to the things that make me happy. Praying, my family, my friends, my puppies, working out, inspirational quotes, etc. It's all about redirecting your focus onto those things that are positive and TRULY matter.

what do you love most about yourself today?

I love that I am going to Australia! I am proud to say that I am going alone, knowing no one, and for an extended amount of time. I am not naive to the fact that yes, it's most certainly the trip of a lifetime, but it's also so incredibly scary and nerve-racking. I love surrounding myself with friends and family. However, I am knowingly separating myself from them for 5 months because I know this is truly what's best for me!

A few quotes I love to live by:

"The most beautiful people we know, are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known loss, and have found their way out of the depths. These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep, loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen."-Elizabeth Kubler-Ross

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

"Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier."-Mother Teresa

''Happiness is the secret to beauty. There is no beauty that is attractive without happiness.'' -Christain Dior

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."-Eleanor Roosevelt

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."- 1 Corinthians 13

And with all that said, love yourself ladies. Love yourself and everything else falls into line.

All my love,
Sam xo
