i worked on designing 4 wedding albums (each takes about 3 hours or so) and in the middle of working on one all of a sudden our power went out...MY WORST NIGHTMARE!!! i lost about half of my work on one album....this will teach me to save as i go...what a stupid stupid mistake! so needless to say i wanted a little break. moments later our doorbell rang and two wonderful packages came in the mail!!
the first was from Nebraska Wedding Day Magazine :) it enclosed two copies of the 2011 magazine that our wedding is featured in...set to go out on shelves after christmas...to say i was a little excited is a definite understatement!
please excuse the low quality image via my iphone. once the electric copy is on their website i will be sure to share more (or i will scan it...i'm just a tad bit too lazy right now!!)
i also received a package from the lovely and amazing Trina with feed the birdies be sure to stop by and say hello to this wonderful lady...let me tell you she is just incredible. not too long ago she posted some pictures of her vintage christmas items and i left her a comment telling her that i couldn't wait to start collecting some vintage christmas things myself. she asked me for my address so she could send something lovely my way (how awesome is that)...wow, trina went way above and beyond. here is just a snapshot of the beautiful things she sent my way
these packages were just what i needed to get me through my long and busy weekend. it's funny how one moment you can be stressed out and irritated and the next you can be on cloud nine!
so lovelies...what got you through your weekend?
xoxo - lindsay
ps i am so sorry for my lack of visits and commenting these last few days...i promise to get caught up soon :) i think reading all of your lovely blogs is just what i need to help me relax and start my week off right!!
That's incredible that you are featured in a wedding magazine! Love it! Wedding magazines are my favorite! People ask me all the time when I buy them if I'm getting married....nope! Just my job lol! I can't wait to see the online copy/scanned version since I can't get that magazine here :(
ReplyDeleteOh how I adore this post! and how I adore your gorgeous blog! Thanks for sharing x
ReplyDeleteHow incredible! I love your work!! So talented :)
ReplyDeleteBummer that the power went out right in the middle of your work- that's so irritating! But how awesome that your wedding is featured in a magazine!!
ReplyDeleteYou sound like one busy lady! It will be fun to see the electronic version of the feature on your wedding.
ReplyDeleteUgh, can't tell you how many times I've had that happen. I'm a strong supporter of "save every five minutes" now!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great weekend sweetie!
This is so lovely! And NEVER forget to save as you go. It is such a bummer to lose all your work, it had happened to me so so many times and I always have the worst fits ever haha.
ReplyDeletebig kiss!

How Awesome! I love receiving packages...and I can't wait to see more more more from your wedding mag feature! YAY! :D
ReplyDeleteoh no, that stinks that you lost power!! i don't know how esxpensive these are, but i know you can get a battery backup thing. i have one for my computer. when the power goes on, my computer stays on and the battery will run for 30 minutes so i'm able to save my work and finish what i'm doing
ReplyDeleteHoly moly- you were featured in a magazine! That is amazing, I can't wait to see it! Oh, and about a month ago I put together a little slideshow for my nephews first birthday with pictures, videos and all...4 hours into it something happened (no clue what) and I lost most of it. Worst thing EVER! Glad you got the packages to cheer you up, though!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you have been sick so long! What exciting packages you got! I hope that is the start to a wonderful week!

urghhh! i hate when something happens to all my stuff after i've spent so much time on it...i often try to save things or copy and paste them somewhere because even if it wasn't the power it'd be something else, like a computer glitch or something ya know....beautiful stuff...your fab....and don't ever apologize for being busy....we understand...or at least people better:) haha...have a good week doll!
ReplyDeleteawww that was sooo nice - i love vintage chrismtas things - ornaments especially.
ReplyDeletei hope you have an amazing week full of all things Chrismasness!
very cute blog! so artistic. :)
ReplyDeletexx.
That magazine looks lovely! I hope we get to see the official version soon! :) It's so unfortunate that your power went out! I always berate myself for forgetting to save (not even save, but save as)...I get so wrapped up in something after I start that it completely slips my mind! Those christmas items are adorable!
ReplyDeleteMy weekend was so amazing and relaxing :) I don't think I need anything to get me through since it's usually the LEAST stressful part of my week. Now it's back to the grind for some crazy studying before winter break is FINALLY here!
