do you nutella?
is it bad that i have never tried nutella? to be honest, i'm not exactly sure where to even look for this stuff in the store :) i just checked out some of my local grocery shops and they say they carry it...perhaps i need to give this one a shot. it seems to be a hot trend right now...or is it just me? i have been thinking that it may be a good idea to incorporate this ingredient into one of our food items out of our scarlet & cream food truck if it is loved by so many.
so to nutella or not to nutella is the question? please leave me a comment if you have tried this spread and give it a thumbs up or thumbs down...also how do you eat your nutella? XO, lindsay

Ahhh! Nutella rocks my face off! Seriously- you NEED it in your life :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't try Nutella until I spent time in Italy. I lived there for a summer and kept a jar by my bed with some light Italian crackers. I'd literally wake up from a nap and scoop some, with a cracker, right out of the jar. Every girl on my trip had a jar to themselves. It's amaaazing! My husband lived in Italy for a year, so for his birthday(his first as my boyfriend), I surprised him with a jar of Nutella with a candle sticking out of it. It's really, really good and if you like chocolate and hazelnut you will LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteI just tried Nutella a few weeks ago. I heard from so many people how amazing it was. I didn't believe it, but it's ridiculously good. I think it'd do good to have it in your food truck!
ReplyDeleteI've been eating Nutella since I was a kid. It's so freakin' good! my favorite way to eat it is with peanut butter on crackers but it'd really good any way you eat it.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh that's the best chocolate spread ever!! We used to beg our mum to buy us a jar when we were kids! x
ReplyDeleteNutella is the fastest disappearing thing in my kitchen! Every one of us LOVE the stuff! We eat it on toast, strawberries, waffles, apple slices, bagels, french bread, by itself and pretty much anything that sounds good. I have even made my own Nutella, including a vegan nutella for my sister. I say DEFINITELY try it out!
ReplyDeleteOh my I've lived with nutella since I was a kid and I've never been tired of it!! Try it it usually is where the jams and pb are ;)
ReplyDeleteit's insanely delicious & it's on the aisle with peanut butter. it really tastes a lot like chocolate icing, but thicker with less sugar. however, it's loaded with fat so i try not to buy it often because i can't help but put it on almost everything.
ReplyDeleteI grew up eating Nutella (which is originally European :) because I lived in a country that was formerly a Dutch colony, so, I must say, as someone who loved it long before it was a trend, it is delicious, especially on ricecakes or toast (with sprinkles!). :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteMmmm. soooo good! One of my favorite snacks, ever since I was a little bon bon! It's great on toast, graham crackers, fruit, etc. There is a Norwegian version: Nugatti. And dare I say, it's even better! But, definitely hard to find in the states. xoxo
ReplyDeleteTry it! I use Nutella with EVERYTHING. Pretzels, I eat it with bananas and I mix it into my morning oatmeal. Its insane!
ReplyDeleteNutella has been one of my favorites since I was a little girl. I love that stuff!
ReplyDeletedefinitely thumbs UP to nutella! we dip graham crackers in it!
ReplyDeleteNutella is the most amazing stuff ever created! Unfortunately, it's almost the most calories and fat you can consume in only one tablespoon...
ReplyDeletenutella is like butter to most italian families... best treat ever? heat up some in the mircowave for like 45 seconds and dip strawberries into...taste like Godiva Choc. Covered strawberries for waaaaaay cheaper.
ReplyDeleteI love Nutella! It's perfect by itself or with peanut butter and/or bananas. You can find it next to the peanut butter and jelly at the grocery store. Nutella crepes are also delicious.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny you wrote this post, I've never really had nutella either and I was talking to a friend of mine Tuesday who was telling me about her Nutella Addiction lol - and I have been wondering if I should actually try it to, then I clicked this post and I'm pretty sure this concreted the fact it's a must with all of these Comments! :)
ReplyDeleteUhm YES Nutella! It is so so so good. I just eat mine on wheat toast in the morning, but I've seen many recipes that use it! I think it would be a wonderful idea to incorporate it into an item or two in your scarlet & cream food truck!
ReplyDeletexo,
jessie
That's crazy...my son & I are sharing a nutella sandwich as we speak. I'm dieting so if I have a chocolate craving, I can put it on a cracker or piece of bread. It's delicious!
ReplyDeleteI grew up on Nutella, and knew what it was before ever coming into contact with Peanut Butter. I remember bringing Nutella sandwiches to school and having my friends ask with confusion...."What is that brown stuff?"
ReplyDeleteIt is delicious....If you've ever had FERRERO ROCHER hazelnut chocolates, you know the ones wrapped in gold foil?.......they are made by the same company...and are filled with the NUTELLA spread! My favourite, needless to say!
Mr. Ferrerro, the founder of the product, just recently passed away...sometime this year, if I'm not mistaken....and I felt so sad....so I ate an extra large spoonful of that brown glossy yummy goodness to honour him! lol
What are you waiting for...it's right where the jams and peanut butter spreads are at the grocery store.....buy some, try some.....eat it by the spoonful......slowly while watching television! or reading blogs! that's what I do!~
ciao bella
I'm hosting a giveaway.....stop by if you like!

I've decided to add your beautiful blog to my side bar on my blog!

Of course I nutella! It's from Germany, I grew up with it! I love it on pancakes! So yummy!!! You HAVE to try it!!! You can get it at any grocery chain in the US!!!
ReplyDeleteNow im craving nutella!! :)
ReplyDeleteDouble thumbs up! It makes the best treat if you put it on top of peanut butter toast :)
ReplyDeleteoh Lindsay I'm excited for you to try it!! :) Next time you're at the store, go to the peanut butter section/isle and it'll be there.
ReplyDeleteI used to eat it just plain...yep, with a spoon in hand and a tub of Nutella in the other I was one happy girl ;) We always got our own litte containers on our birthdays growing up, so it brings back sweet memories. It wasn't until I was older that I had it with other things, and it made my nutella experience even better :)
- use as a sweet dip for strawberries, bananas, pretzels, etc.
- spread on toast, waffles, pancakes, french toast, crepes, etc.
- microwave a tiny bit and then drizzle over icecream
- mixed into shakes. In the NW there are restaurants called Burgerville that make seasonal chocolate-hazelnut (basically nutella) shakes and they were AMAZING. Maybe you could make it using icecream, mik, nutella, hazel nut creamer, and some minced hazel nuts (adds texture:) I want to try that now!
- baked in cookies and cupcakes (you can find recipes all over the web)
- wrapped in crescent rolls (i wrote a post/recipe for it here: http://adamandhaleykjar.blogspot.com/2011/08/nutella-cream-cheese-crescent-rolls.html )
Okay, can you tell I love me some nutella? ;) Hope you, the hubs and your scarlett dream are doing great!
xo

I've had it before...I'm not huge on chocolate though. I haven't had it after that even though my husband is obsessed.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a terrible love for chocolate but man, Nutella is amazing!!! Definitely try it. Check by the peanut butter. That's where my store has it. And then buy some wonton wrappers and make Nutella wontons. Deeeeelish :)
ReplyDeleteI've never tried it (that I can recall) but I want to, so please share your thoughts when you do try!
ReplyDeleteIf I ever try it, I might have it on toasted carbs (like bread, bagels, English muffins) or instead of regular PB on a PB&J sandwich. Or maybe bake with it. I'm sure there are a lot of bite-size recipes online that you can use in your food truck :) Can't wait to see what you come up with!
UP UP UP! I just tried Nutella this month and oh my god. It's like warmed, gooey chocolate mixed with a warm peanut-y peanut butter. It's sweet and just oh so delicious!
ReplyDeleteINSANELY GOOD! But can't have it in the house 'cause I would eat it right out of its canister ;)
ReplyDeleteTexaGermaFinlaNadian
only "nutella" ( i like how it's a verb here haha) if you're ready to get addicted. an important piece of advice hahah
ReplyDeleteIt's totally worth trying! It's definitely a bit of a trend, but I think it's because it was one of those treats that you got to have as a child :) I think you'll like it! It's chocolatey without being overpowering.
ReplyDeleteYES NUTELLA! It's so delicious AND gluten-free! You can buy it in the peanut butter section of the grocery store, FYI.
ReplyDeleteI eat it with bananas or just plain bread.
I love the changes around here, specially the header!
ReplyDeleteI definately say try it! I love it! I eat it on bread as a sandwhich! Also, I eat it out of the jar sometimes! ha :)
ReplyDeleteWow...I've been seeing this mentioned several places and I thought I must be on Mars, cuz I had no idea what it was. If you do try it, give us a basic "what is this stuff exactly"... description and how you like it. Do people cook with it too?....not that I cook. It sounds chocolatly. Wonder if it's expensive. Thanks for not making me feel like I was the only one out of the loop.
ReplyDeleteNutella is delicious. I love it best on fruit! GO BUY IT NOOOOW! It's by the peanut butter in Wal Mart...and not too expensive. Might as well try some!
ReplyDeletehaha, not a fan! I've been to europe a few times, and that is where I originally had it, and it became a craze here in the states a few years back, maybe several now, but I am the odd man out here...
ReplyDeleteLOL! I used to hate it, then I got hooked on Peanut Butter & Co's Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter spread (before it started going for like $4 a jar!) and no I can barely keep it stocked. My kids ADORE a nutella sandwich and when my youngest daughter went on a peanut butter strike (and wanted jelly only sandwiches) this was a good alternative. I especially like nutella on waffles! :)
