in the deed of the glory

i'm a lover of tradition and of all the states that i have lived in, i believe nebraska embodies tradition most.  when i moved to the big red state i quickly learned that college football is serious business.  lucky for me i'm a big fan so i fit right in...i don't think matthew would have it any other way :)

what traditions do you love most about your state?  i'd love to hear!! XO, lindsay

  7. This is what I MISS about living in Nebraska! I never got a chance to go to Memorial Stadium, but when my mom was growing up, they went almost every home game. Love it there!

  8. This is awesome! I think I would have fun in that atmosphere even if I wasn't a fan. Our tradition here in Savannah is ST PATRICKS DAY!! We do it like non-other. It's major. :)

  9. Washington has two big colleges: UW and WSU. So of course, the two are big rivals. Everyone makes a big deal out of the football teams and the rivalry. There's even gear for both at many stores across the state (Fred Meyer's, Target, etc.) along with the pro sports teams. Other than that, though, I'm not sure about our traditions. Except annual fairs and festivals. The Puyallup and Evergreen State Fairs are HUGE around here.

  10. Looks like you had lots of fun.
When I moved to Alabama, my new friends didn't delay to inform me that I HAD to pick a side... Alabama is huge with College Football and the SEC. And of course, everyone is either a Alabama or Auburn fan. I chose to be an Alabama fan, and haven't looked back. I have found I love college ball and I love the team I cheer for. Of course, Auburn is the biggest rival. Some people take it too seriously, but it is a whole lot of fun.
Back home in Indiana... County, City, and the State Fairs are all huge. One thing I miss was going to the local fairs in the area. Where I lived, you could go to a different fair every weekend. It was so much fun, and I really miss that.
