shrimp on the barbie and fried oreos


this past weekend was jam packed with unhealthy completely amazing food.  i always look forward to august in lincoln because it is when the annual rib fest comes to town.  i don't eat meat, but i do enjoy some seafood from time to time and when you put fresh cut french fries and fried oreos (YES, fried oreo's have you had them before?) in front of me, i will eat until i can eat no more.

after rib fest leaves town i can feel the end of summer coming near...i don't know about you, but i am looking forward to apple picking and the changing leaves :)  XO, lindsay

    GREAT pictures!! The food all looks DElicious!! A rib fest sounds like a blast..I know my husband would agree as well :)

    oh girl. every october the n.c. state fair occurs. robert and i drive to raleigh to attend. you can find fried oreos on just about every corner, but we ALWAYS scout out our favorite little stand, which also sells chowder in bread bowls (odd). they also have fried cheesecake, fried twinkies, and this year...


    they had fried butter.

    OK the Calgary Stampede is notorious for having the craziest food and on top of fried oreos they had fried snickers, twinkies, cheesecake, mac and cheese, coke, and POPTARTS. This year they decided to spice it up with adding Pizza on a stick, Turkeytini (turkey dinner in a martini glass) and the donut burger (bacon cheeseburger on a maple glazed donut) to the list. Oh how I love fair food. Sweet pics!

    I am ready for fall as well! Mostly because I can't really enjoy the sun because my lupus AND meds combined make me burn like crazy. It is dumb. :/

    I have never had fried Oreos before, but they sound pretty yummy.

    When we were in Boston back in June, there was something similar to the Rib Fest that you went to. Those booths you took pics of even look exactly like the booths at the one in Boston :)
