thrifting

before going to the park with brixa yesterday, matthew and i stopped by a local antique shop to check out the pretty little things that they have.  unfortunately i didn't walk away with much...only one item actually.  an old wooden post office box...can't wait to find the perfect place to display it ♥ (picture of this lovely coming soon!)

i did take a few snapshots though and thought i would share...aren't the salt and pepper shakers so cute!  i wanted to take all of them home!

how many of you go thrifting?  how often do you go?  i am working on putting together a project for all of you friends out there that have a love for thrifting as well...i'm thinking of setting up a flikr group page where you can all share a picture of your finds and then also ask that you share a picture of how you display these things around your house or how you wear them etc.  i will have occasional posts sharing some of your images, and you can blog about your finds on your own blog too!

let me know your thoughts...and if you have a suggestion for a name, please send it my way :)  i'm stumped! XO, lindsay

  7. I am a deprived thrift-o-holic. This town doesn't have any shops, so when i go on holidays i pretty much spend the entire time in Op Shops - in the meantime i get my fix off ebay and etsy :)

Love your piccies from today, new segment sounds great xx

  8. we have a few good thrift shops here in Utah that I know of. Its rare that I don't go away with something. One of my favorite things to do is re do the item that I purchased. I have bought a tv stand, lamp, chairs and with a little spray paint, they are fun!

  9. I've gone once but it's (oddly) too expensive usually. When I find things it seems they cost much more than I expect. Eventually when we get out of this apartment and into a home we can furnish I'll be out thrifting a little more. I love the blue and white salt and pepper shakers! Looking forward to photos of the post box!

  10. your pictures are FABULOUS!!!

patience is NOT MY FORTE, so thrifting doesn't always work for me. i try it SOMETIMES, and it is nice when i score something. i do better at thrifting household items and/or jewelry more so than clothing. the clothing searches are just too tedious for me!

hope you have a fab weekend!
