the pictures on the wall
do you ever look at old photos of your ancestors and wonder what a day in their life would have been like?
when matthew and i were planning for our wedding, we asked our relatives to send us old family photos of our ancestors on their wedding day.
we took those photos and placed them on our photo booth wall that was displayed during our reception. there was something so special about sharing these photos with all of our friends and family. knowing that in these photographs our ancestors were celebrating one of the happiest days of their lives while we were in the moment celebrating ours was beautiful.
maybe one day in the future our family will enjoy our old wedding photographs. hopefully they too will cherish the pictures on the wall.

one of my favorite things to do is look through old family pics. it's amazing the differences between then and now. that is another nice touch to your wedding. usually people put up their own bridals/groomals, but i love your uniqueness.
ReplyDeleteThat was {again} such a brilliant idea! I love looking at pictures of my ancestors. My grandparents own this 500 year-old castle and they have a huge hall of pictures and mostly paintings of ancestors. You have no idea how fun and scary their stories are. And I've only heard a few!

I love vintage photographs and their history. Every photo has a story behind it and even if the story is unknown, it is just as beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love how you incorporated the wedding photos into your wedding. All of the details of your big day have me wishing that I were there as a guest!
xo!

Are those pics from your wedding? How cool! I've always kind of liked the empty picture frame that you can put yourself in.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I've never really thought about a day in the life of one of my relatives. I don't really have to, though: both of my grandmas and my great-aunt all talk occasionally about their childhoods, specifically my grandma about living in Iowa and being married to my grandpa after World War 2 (in which he fought). Sometimes, though, the stories are fun to hear :)
I'll be honest, I've seen this idea before, but you seriously took it to a whole new level...which of course means...you ROCK! LOVE that you included the sentimental family wedding pictures...definately something I would love to see at any wedding. And the couch, the wall paper...everything about this photo wall/station is exquisite!
