  1. When I was about 10 mum taught me how to knit, and I used to do little shawls (which always ended full of holes). But I never did anything since then! x

  2. i want to learn how to crochet and knit. i tried to learn when i was younger, but it was hard being taught by a right handed person when you're left handed. I'm going to buy a book soon and teach myself. It would be a wonderful hobby to have. ♥

  3. i'm in the process of learning how to knit. it's quite complicated as there's lots of different types of stitches and you have to have different kinds of needles for different items.

i knit one of my best friends a little hat with a pom pom on it when she was pregnant. it was my first time knitting and she loved the personal touch :)

if you find you don't get much time for hobbies i'd recommend latch hooking. it's simple and very therapeutic. something you can just pick up and put down. i'm making a rug using latch hooking at the moment.

  4. those are some beautiful pieces! i really like the crocheted necklace. i want to learn how to sew, and crochet. but i don't have time enough. one of the many other things that i want to do is to learn how to cook. my future husband is in trouble because i just don't cook. hehehe. oh and learning how to make my own quilt would be nice too. so many "i want to learn's" and not enough time.

  5. If you every get the hang of it, it is a lot of fun! My mom knows how to crochet, and she has tried to teach me several times. I can only do the basic loop (with her instruction), and it's very relaxing.

  7. Hey Lindsay! One of the girls I'm friends with on the blog [and in real life] Alysha from 'The Tarr Pit' actually is getting ready to open her own Etsy shop for her crochet'd items, maybe you can talk with her :) Her button is on my left sidebar :) Hope your day is fabuloso!

  8. Ah, those crochet blankets are so pretty! I used to crochet and knit a lot, and feel like I should pick it up again. I agree with Sam above, it's just so relaxing - you only focus on what you're doing, nothing else.

Ps. I've always wanted to play drums!!!

  9. I want to too Lindsay!! My Mom does...I even have a few green pot holders she crocheted for me. Whenever I use them they make me so happy :) And each one of those photos made my smiler get bigger & bigger!! The garland in the 2nd photo is fabulous, and the whole room with chinese lantern-looking pieces is phenomenal! Thanks for reminding me I need to look up some youtube instuctional videos and put some crochet hooks to work!

  12. I tried crocheting when I was younger (12 or so). I made a disformed pot holder. Ha! I then gave up. But here at work the ladies are getting together a lunch & learn type thing and a knitting instructer is coming in to show us how over 3 different days. Contemplating giving it a try! Oh the scarves I could knit. ;)

  13. I learned how to knit this past Fall. But it was kind of a pain since all I know is a basic pattern so, I've been slacking.

My mother, on the other hand, can crochet her heart out. And for this, I am envious of her.

Maybe I'll pick it back up. And finish my scarf by NEXT winter. Or pick up a paint brush and make over some of the rooms in my house. Painting has ALWAYS scared me. Until then, I'd much rather be baking.

  17. I love to crochet! Its so relaxing and there are so many amazing things that you can create! I think the hardest thing is getting started and reading the patterns, but the best helpful tool that I have found is youtube. There are so many great teaching videos there. And you don't have to pay money for lessons. I hope this helps Lindsay! Love ya!

  19. Lindsay! I just read your whole interview on Love Never Fails! Awesome by the way.
I read that you're hesitating between a Canon and a Nikon, and I don't wanna sound like I think I'm a pro or anything (because I'm SO not) but I just thought I'd share the bit I know about cameras! My dad's a photographer and he ONLY uses Canons. I have one myself (EOS 20D) and I love it. Don't get me wrong, Nikon cameras are great as well! I guess it all depends on the lens too. Sooner or later you'll have to buy a separate lens because the one that comes with your camera when you buy it (approx. 18-55mm) won't be enough! Oh and also, a lot of people make this mistake, but a lot of megapixels doesn't necessarily mean better in terms of the image quality you'll get. 'Nyways, both are great cameras! I'd recommend a Nikon D60 or a Canon EOS Rebel! If I were you I'd go to a store and try them! see what suits you best! I know this probably didn't help a lot, sorry! Good luck, can't wait to see which one you pick!

  24. Okay, I struggle with whether or not to tell you this because it may cause extreme jealousy but...when I was 10, I crocheted bookmarks for my ENTIRE FAMILY. I am talking 3 rows each. HA! Okay, so maybe your not jealous...;-)recently, I started embroidering, which is fun and I got the yarn and knitting needles from my mom just last week to learn to knit- we can learn together via youtube! ha!

  30. I could teach you some very basics to crochet. My mom knows more and she knows how to knit. Tried to teach me to knit, but I don't have the patience to learn. Oh...I will be out at your work sometime next week to have lunch with my sister (she's back for the week to do some training). I will make sure to meet up with you while I am out there. Love you sweetie!

  32. My mom can crochet like crazy, and I can knit, but neither of us can do the other thing! Haha! But I love knitting. It is so relaxing. I also love to embroider. I am thinking of trying it on paper actually, to see what happens. Get a starter kit at Hobby Lobby and a few needles, and go for it! :)

  33. The next to last one, with all the crocheted decorations. So cool!

I can't really do anything like that except use a sewing machine. But I like it!

I don't really have time for hobbies. When I have time at home, though, I do love to bake. My family even makes requests for gatherings :)

  34. Gah, I wish I could crochet and knit, too!! I have tried, but I am just not talented in that area. So I gave up.

  35. My favorite hobby is horseback riding. I have been riding horses since I was nine and was lucky enough to own a horse throughout high school and college. I haven't been riding in a few months (mainly because the barns around here are pretty far out and it's cold but I hope to start up again soon!)

I would really like to learn how to sew and would love to sew a quilt. First I need a sewing machine :)
