what to read?

hello my friends! i am still here, but not quite 100% :) thank you again to you all for the get well wishes...they brighten my day! i rarely ever get a cold, but when i do they seem to linger for a very long time...anyway enough about that!

i have always been a fan of a great read, but for some reason i have not spent much time lately diving into books (it might be because i've been rather busy, but i hate to make these kind of excuses...even though i just did!!). i am in desperate need of some inspiration and would love to hear about what you are reading these days and what you might suggest for me :)

xoxo

p.s. doesn't that image above just want to make you read?!?

  1. I havent read anything in awhile either. I saw a trashy romance in the store the other day and almost bought it. Hmmm...maybe I'll go back.

  2. Read Jodie Picoult books! They're amazing. My favorite is Handle With Care. I'm also a big fan of Sarah Desson, her books are cute :) I'm in a bunch of Children's Literature classes right now, so even though I'm reading a TON, I'm in desperate need of an adult book haha!

  4. i'm a big time kitchen whore - and just finished reading Paula Deen's: It Ain't All About The Cooking!

I was surprised - I mean its probably not ever gonna be the best seller, but it really makes you stop and think that ANYTHING in this world is possible - you just have to try. <3 she gets and A+ in my book.

  5. My daughter has been after me for years to read "Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist". I finally gave in a couple of weeks ago and finished it in one sitting. It's a neat little book with a great storyline and a fantastic ending!

  6. I agree with perfect peace! Jodi Picoult is AWESOME.

I also suggest the Hunger Games series!!! It's sooooo good. You'll like it :) I'm on book two right now and it's awesome.

Also, I would suggest this book probably before any other... BET ME, by Jennifer Crusie. I even blogged about it ((way back when)):

  8. All your images are so romantic...I wish I had time to read, if I did I'd read the True Blood series...I heard they're pretty steamy.
    Hope you get better soon.

  9. i've been making a list of books i want to read for awhile!! it's so hard though! most of them are movies that I love that were books first.

and that's so cool that your middle name is Brooke! my middle name is nicole, and i always wanted to start the school year being nicole instead of brooke, but now i'm glad i didn't! lindsay and brooke are both names you don't hear everyday, so it makes us unique :)

    <3, brooke

  10. If you like cheesy but exiting vampire novels I would like to recommend 'The Black Dagger Brotherhood' -- very addictive series!

    And get well soon :)

  11. Oh, I love to read too! If you haven't read The Help, by Kathryn Stockett, run (don't walk) to get it. I am reading The Icing on the Cupcake right now..it's a quick, fun one. I am about to start The Year We Disappeared (I think that's the title) which is a father/daughter memoir about living in hiding to protect their family from a criminal. Sad..but heard it's wonderful and the kids at school are reading it in English. :) Hope that helps!
